If you are stuck with an older refrigerator that still works well, or are just a bit short on money, buying a brand new sparkling appliance may be out of the question. There are a few tricks that anyone can do to make an older refrigerator look brand new without spending a lot of money. Don't worry if you are stuck with an avocado green refrigerator that looked great in 1970, if it works well, you can convert the color easily.

One Door Refrigerator

The first thing to do is a top to bottom cleaning of the refrigerator. Remove all the food and clean the inside as well. Use an old toothbrush to clean the gasket (the seal colse to the door.) This will also make your refrigerator more efficient.

One option is appliance paint. Your refrigerator can be re-painted in any color you chose. Be sure to only use appliance paint, not regular wall paint. You won't need to paint the back of your refrigerator, only the top, sides and the door. If your refrigerator is built into cabinets, you won't even need to paint the sides.

Use masking tape or extra painters tape to cover the handle on the refrigerator. You may want to tape off the floor, colse to cabinets and the door seal as well. Make sure if you are using a spray paint to cover the coils on the back of the appliance as well. All the time supervene the directions on the paint can for the best results.

Another option is stainless steel experience paper. Apply the experience paper carefully, development sure that the edges are clean and straight. Fully cover your refrigerator, smoothing out any bubbles with a ruler as you go. Make sure you purchase experience paper that is designed to be used on metal.

Either of these options can give your refrigerator a brand new look that will fit any budget. You will be surprised how much a sparkling refrigerator can convert the look of your entire kitchen.
